Battery Life for NI Series

Question:
What is the expected battery life for the Lithium (LI) batteries in the NI series?
Answer:
The NI series uses a combination lithium battery and clock crystal package called a Timekeeper. We have made the calculations and have determined that the battery can be expected to have 3 years of usable life in very adverse conditions. Actual life is probably appreciably longer under normal operating conditions.
The calculation is based on storing the unit without power in 50° C (120° F) temperature until battery levels are no longer acceptable.
The part number for replacement batteries is 57-0032. Only one unit is installed in an NI controller.
