Distance of CAT5 MADI “i” & “R” Cards in the Mini Stageboxes

Question:
Can the MADI cards of “i" and “R" mini stageboxes handle the same distance via CAT5?
Answer:
The “R" mini stageboxes have Si MADI Option Card, therefore the max cable length of CAT5 can be 100m. However the “i" mini stageboxes integrated MADI card is a bit different and has less input gain.
The "R" is more sensitive; therefore, it can tolerate higher cable attenuation. There is no exact measurement on the distance that the “i" version can handle, but according to reports, customers have experienced audio dropouts on runs over 75m.
