What do I do when I get an “Unable to install font" error message?
Answer:
When TPDesign 5 is installed on a Windows 10 machine, you may run into the following error trying to open a file. This may occur with any font, but in this case, it was Roboto Regular. The specific scenario is when the font in question is already installed.
Followed by the below error after clicking OK.
If this occurs, the problem is related to how Windows 10 interacts with TPDesign.
Reinstalling TPDesign 5 in compatibility mode for Windows 8 resolves the issue and allows the file to be opened.
You may still get the notification that the file you are opening was last used in a previous version of TPDesign 5 and will need to be converted. Click Ok it should proceed with no further issues.
