Automating the “Reset EDID" process on SVSi Encoders
Some users find themselves having to reset the EDID in high traffic spaces on encoders where BYOD is allowed. This process can be automated using N-Act Events integrated into SVSi devices. We recommend setting this function on the “Video Cable Disconnected Event" so the device will be cleared when the HDMI cable is disconnected and ready for the next device. We will outline 2 different ways to configure this below, manually or by importing the attached preconfigured event to the unit.
Manual Method
Check the “Enable N-Act Events" checkbox.
Under the “Video Cable Disconnected Event" perform the following steps.
Change the “Port:" to “50003"
Set the “Data:" field to “setsettings:resetedid:-1\r"
Click “Save"

Import Method
At the bottom of the N-Act page you will find the Import/Export section. Simply click on the Choose File button and browse to the location of the saved file. Click Ok to close the dialog box, then proceed to the “Import N-Act" button. The page will refresh, and you will see the Above event in the “Video Cable Disconnected Event". Click on the “Save Events button."
To test functionality, you can disconnect the HDIM cable from the source/encoder or click the “Test" button next to the event. To validate that the event triggered, head over to the “Logs" page, you should see the below event in the log.
