Affected Products:

- PRX912
- PRX915
Summary:
A firmware issue was identified in PRX900 Series (firmware version 5.1.2.0), where the local speaker High-Pass Filter (HPF) wasn't being applied correctly. Although the speaker menu displayed the selected crossover frequency and switched to "Custom" mode, the loudspeaker continued to operate in full-range mode.
Symptoms:
- HPF/crossover frequency can be adjusted in the menu,
- unit displays "Custom" crossover mode,
- but no audible change occurs when changing the crossover frequency.
Troubleshooting:
To verify the issue, set the HPF to This Speaker parameter to significantly different values (for example, 20 Hz and then 1800 Hz) while audio is playing through the speaker. If the unit is affected by the firmware bug, there will be no audible change in the output, and the speaker will continue to reproduce low-frequency content despite the selected HPF setting. The display will show the chosen crossover frequency correctly, but the filter will not be applied.
This issue was identified as a firmware bug and was resolved in firmware version 5.1.5.0. Update the speaker to firmware 5.1.5.0 or later to restore normal HPF/crossover operation. A factory reset will not correct the issue while running firmware 5.1.2.0.
If the procedure above did not resolve your issue, please contact HARMAN Support for next steps.
