Question:
How to find out which Dante chipset is in my AKG DSR800?
Answer:
AKG DSR800 series were assembled with two types of Dante chipsets: at first the older Ultimo (ULT) then the newer UltimoX (UXT).
To determine the IC used in your product:
Open Dante Controller and double-click on the device in question. This will open a Device View window for that device.
Click on the Status tab and consult the Dante Information section.
The Model and Dante firmware version is listed:
The Ultimo ULT ICs are denoted by Ultimo2.
The UXT ICs are denoted by UltimoX2.
Please note:
New DMS800 wireless systems released in 2020 can be distinguished from earlier DMS800 systems by a psi ( Ψ ) symbol that can be found in multiple locations:
a) on the product box label
b) on the right side, front panel of the DSR receiver.
New DSR800 systems incorporate the Dante UXT chipset, but previous versions where assembled with either ULT or UXT chipsets.
