CTC-1402 Connectivity and Update Success

Question:
How can I successfully connect a CTC-1402 to an AMX controller or VNM (Virtual NetLinx Master via Studio), to perform a firmware update or for NetLinx control?
Answer:
It is recommended to only use URL connectivity to a controller or VNM. In the web configuration, on the System page, change the connection mode to URL and enter the Master URL (IP). This will either be an AMX controller or your computer for a VNM connection. The system number and device number will auto populate once connected. It is recommended to change the device number to a static number outside the dynamic range. The device number can be changed in NetLinx Studio, using "Device Addressing" found in the Diagnostics menu. Once the CTC-1402 is on a static address in the online tree, it is firmware transfer and/or control ready.
Note:
It is recommended to send firmware while connected to a physical controller instead of a VNM connection which can take much longer, up to two hours.
