Introduction: Pulling the log from devices in London Architect

Introduction:

Event Logging is crucial in troubleshooting complex issues.  This guide will walk you through pulling the System Event Log in London Architect.

Application Logging stores application based events in the Event Log such going online and offline and errors connecting to devices.  If you want log events that happen in the application such as going online you will want to enable application logging in the application preferences.

Go to Tools>Application Preferences.

Select the Logging Tab and check the Enable Application Logging option.

Pulling the log from devices in London Architect

The Event Log in London Architect is found under View>Application Preferences.

The Event Log will display at the bottom of the application by default.

The Event Log is only able to pull events in while the application is online with the hardware.  If you are not online select online button to go online with the devices.  For more information on getting connected see the Connecting to a HiQNet Network(hyperlink) guide.

Once you are online select the Get Events from Devices Now.  This will pull any logs that are sitting on the device.

Next select refresh list.  This this will display the logs.

To store your events so you can share the logs with support or to view them later go offline out of operate (select the stop button) and save the design file.  The Event Log is now stored as part of the design file.  If you chose not to save the design file you will not have access to the logs later as they will not be saved.
