Are DMS700 and DMS800 systems compatible with each other?

Answer:

No, DMS700 and DMS800 are not compatible with each other.

A DSR700 cannot synchronize a DMS800 transmitter and a DSR800 also cannot synchronize a DMS700 transmitter.

There are several reasons why they are not compatible:

• Due to regulatory changes we had to change some band limits.
  • E.g., the Band 2 of DMS700 was 710.1 to 861.9 MHz and 863.1 to 864.9MHz.  Because of the digital dividend almost the whole 800MHz had been sold off.  In most European countries only 823.1 to 831.9 MHz and 863.1 to 864.9MHz is still allowed.  Compatibility between a DSR700 and a DMS800 transmitter would have meant setting the DMS800 onto an illegal carrier frequency.
  • These new regulations also had an impact on the content of the frequency groups and their preset channels.  For that reason, the content between DMS700 and DMS800 differs.  E.g., the frequency saved as “group 10 / channel 40" in DMS700 won't be identical with the one of DMS800 under the same address.
  • Also, the content of several country groups changed.
• We have several additional groups of compatible frequencies in DMS800.  Those are more robust than the old DMS700 presets and were not included with DMS700.
• The mute button on the DMS800 transmitters can now be changed to a power button.  This functionality does not exist in DMS700.
• The sensitivity of the DHT800 can now be switched via the software, which was not possible with the DHT700.
