Can I use the 8138 as a retrofit in a venue that already has backcans installed?

Answer:

As long as the existing backcan has the common bolt-mounting-circle of 11¼ inches, the 8138 will usually fit. Be sure to use screws that work with the mounting nuts for the existing backcan. The 8138 is only 3.3 inches deep (from the bottom of the ceiling surface), so it fits in just about any depth of standard backcan.
