HiQnet Audio Architect versions and Venue files

A Venue file will adopt the HiQnet Audio Architect version number when it is saved.
A Venue file will open normally when the HiQnet Audio Architect version is the same as version in which it was last saved.
A Venue file will not open when the version of HiQnet Audio Architect is lower than the version in which it was last saved.  e.g. A Venue file saved in HiQnet Audio Architect version 2.25.0 cannot be opened in version 2.20.0 or lower
A Venue file will be upgraded when the version of HiQnet Audio Architect is a higher than the version in which it was last saved.  The Venue file will adopt the HiQnet Audio Architect version when it is saved.

Considerations when changes are made to a Venue file in a running system

A HiQnet Audio Architect software installation contains the firmware required for all supported HiQnet devices.  It may be necessary to update the firmware in the HiQnet devices if a Venue file is upgraded to a higher version.  In addition, The Configurations of BSS Soundweb London devices will need to be loaded when their firmware is updated.  Loading the Configuration will overwrite the parameter values in the devices. It is not possible to receive the parameter values after updating firmware.  Install the version of HiQnet Audio Architect that matches the version of the Venue file to avoid making changes to firmware and BSS Soundweb London Configurations.

  1. Determine the version of HiQnet Audio Architect in which the Venue file was saved.  See section below: Determining the Venue file version.
  2. Download and install the version of HiQnet Audio Architect that matches the version of the Venue file.  All HiQnet Audio Architect versions can be downloaded from the HiQnet Audio Architect web site https://audioarchitect.harmanpro.com/en-US/softwares/hiqnet-audio-architect-v2-25-1-windows-7-sp1-8-1-10.  Older versions are located by clicking the link:  Download legacy versions of HiQnet Audio Architect and HiQnet System Architect.
  3. Open the Venue file.  It will be possible to go Online without updating the firmware or loading the BSS Soundweb London Configurations.

Identifying HiQnet Audio Architect software version

The HiQnet Audio Architect software version is shown on the bottom right corner of the File menu.

Determining the Venue file version

The Venue file version can be determined using the Venue File Expansion Utility software application.  A Venue file comprises a number of files which are “packed” into a single file.  The Venue File Expansion Utility software application will “unpack” the Venue file into its constituent files.  The Venue file version can be located in one of these constituent files.

1. Launch the Venue File Expansion Utility software application from the HiQnet Audio Architect install folder: C:\Program Files\Harman Pro\AudioArchitect x.xx\VenueFileDirectoryUtility.exe

2. Choose the Venue file to be unpacked.  Click on the ellipsis button and locate the Venue file.

3. Choose a directory into which the files will be unpacked.  Click on the ellipsis button and navigate to a directory.

4. Click the Unpack button.

5. Expand the Components folder and locate the file: VenueHeader.xml

6. Double-click the file: VenueHeader.xml

7. The HiQnet Audio Architect version in which the file was saved will be displayed in the file.
