Question:
Why do my recorded tracks differ from the labels shown on the channels in the mixer?
For example, in the image below channel 1 and channel 2 have their source patched as DAW 1 and DAW 2, and are labelled as such, but these are not the signals that are recorded on track 1 & 2 of the internal recorder.

Answer:
The tracks are recorded directly from the mic preamps.
Even though the channel may have a different patch and label than the corresponding physical input jack and preamp, the record “send" is the physical input jack and preamp on the mixer. Repatching and/or relabeling channels doesn't change this.
The real issue is that on the Multitrack Config page, when you select a track, the label may be incorrect. In this example, even though DAW Return 1 and DAW Return 2 have been patched to channel 1 and channel 2, and their labels changed, those 2 tracks would still record the physical inputs of channel 1 and 2. The patching is working as designed, it is the label that is incorrect.
