Question:
Why did NX Series Controllers temporarily stop supporting RS-422 and RS-485?
Answer:
Update 6-12-2023
NX processors now support RS-422 and RS-485. The table below shows the date and starting serial number where processors began shipping with the IC again.

****************************
Due to global supply chain component shortages, the Integrated Circuit needed to support RS-422/485 functionality was not available for a period of time from 2022 into 2023. The RS-422/485 feature was not supported on the RS-232/422/485 port(s) on all NX-controller products. The RS-232 control is not affected by this shortage and is still fully functional.
If you have a unit without RS-422/RS-485 control and this is required for your installation, one option is to use the CE-COM2 or EXB-COM2 (discontinued). Otherwise please contact Technical Support to discuss other alternatives for your system design.
RS-422/485 controls are also available from third-party manufacturers.
The table below shows the serial number range of production without support for RS-422/485 control.
